Sync Finger Scanners with Auto Sync Desktop App

💬 Note

Conditions required before using Auto Sync:

  • Customers must download the Auto Sync app onto their computer and keep it enabled 24 hours a day. Only one device can be used at a time.
  • Downloading the Auto Sync app must be done via Windows only.
  • If you disable the Auto Sync app, when you reopen the app, you will be able to retrieve fingerprint scan data from the past 7 days (168 hours).

Step 1: Download Auto Sync app

  1. Download the Auto Sync App on your desktop🔗: Sync Version 22.0.0

Step 3: Setting up the Fingerprint Scanner in ByteHR.

If the fingerprint scanner does not support ADMS, the system will prompt you to enter the following information:

  • Serial Number: This field is optional; you can enter the serial number of your fingerprint scanner.
  • IP address: It is a mandatory field and must be entered exactly as shown on the fingerprint scanner.
  • Port Number: This is mandatory and must be entered correctly according to the fingerprint scanner.
  • Time zone
  • Location: It is an optional field and will be displayed in the timekeeping report at that location.

  1. 🏷️ Case: A case where there are multiple fingerprint scanners in a branch.
    1. Different IP addresses. 

      Fingerprint scanner A is set to IP Address: 192.168.1.201, Port: 4370.

      Fingerprint scanner B is set to IP Address: 192.168.1.202, Port: 4370.

    2. Different Port Numbers

      Fingerprint scanner A is set to IP Address: branch1.ddns.com, Port: 4370.

      Fingerprint scanner B is set to IP Address: branch1.ddns.com, Port: 4371.

  2. 🏷️ Case: B case with multiple branches, each with one fingerprint scanner.
    1. The port number for each branch can be the same.

      The fingerprint scanner at branch AA is set to IP Address: branch1.ddns.com, Port: 4370.

      The BB branch fingerprint scanner is set to IP Address: branch2.ddns.com, Port: 4370.

Step 4: Setting up the Fingerprint Scanner  

  1. Go to the Finger Scanner's Main Menu.
  2. Click Communication Settings (COMM.) to configure Network Settings (Ethernet). 
  3. Turn off DHCP.
  4. Set the IP address to match the IP address configured in ByteHR.
  5. Set the TCP port (TCP COMM.Port) to match the port configured in ByteHR.

Step 5: Enable the Auto Sync app on Desktop

Open the Auto Sync app and check for data synchronization between the fingerprint scanner and the application.
