Add Fingerprint Scanners

🔍 Note

There are two methods to automatically sync attendance data from a Fingerprint Scanner to ByteHR.

  1. Via Web App
    1. Available only for ZKTeco fingerprint Scanners that support AMDS.
    2. Data is synced in real time.
    3. The system will display the scanner status as Online once Connected.
  2. Via Desktop Application
    1. Supports ZKTeco fingerprint scanners only.
    2. Data sync depends on the desktop application configuration.

🏷️ Case

For data synchronization via the web app, the system will show that the fingerprint scanner is online. 

Time attendance data via fingerprint scanning is automatically updated in real-time on ByteHR.

How to Add a Fingerprint Scanner

  1. Go to the Preferences.
  2. Select Attendance.
  3. Click Finger Scanners.

  4. Click + Add.

  5. Enter the name of the Fingerprint Scanner in the Name field.
  6. Select the type of Fingerprint Scanner you are using and fill in the required fields.
  7. Tick the "Active?" checkbox to activate the Fingerprint Scanner.
  8. Click Save.


Pricing of the Real-Time Sync Finger Scanner depends on the number of employees in your package and will be prorated based on your billing cycle.



  1. If the Device Supports ADMS:
    1. You will be required to fill in:
      1. Interface
      2. Device Model
      3. Time Zone
      4. Location (Optional) and will be displayed in the Timestamp report at that location.
    2. The system will not allow manual entry of the serial number.
    3. Once configured, the system will automatically retrieve the serial number from the device.
  2. If the Device Does Not Support ADMS:
    1. You will need to manually enter:
      1. Serial Number (Optional)
      2. IP Address
      3. Port
      4. Time Zone
      5. Location (Optional) and will be displayed in the Timestamp report at that location.
